PERFORMANCE

Dancers and musicians, selected via open call, create improvisation-based trios within just a few hours — and perform them as pop-ups right inside an exhibition in Museum der Moderne Salzburg. A host guides the audience through the exhibition, where dance, music and visual art enter into vibrant dialogue.

BATTLE

The Next Generation Battle is a competition for kids and young dancers, giving them a stage within the international scene — with a free workshop and free entry for all. In the Kids (ages 8–12) and Teens (ages 13–18) categories, participants battle for a spot in the grand finale, which they take to the World Finals stage on Saturday in their very own battle.

TALK & DISCUSSION

Pressing topics of the Hip Hop and House scene are explored together — as panel, as open dialogue, as conversation between stage and audience. Since 2025 hosted by Luke Lentes (The Capsule, London) in shifting formats that actively involve the audience.

BATTLE

The Preselection takes place the day before the World Finals in Salzburg — where dancers from around the world compete for a spot in the Top 16. Additionally, international Qualifiers connect the global scene: so far held in Cape Town, Manila and Vienna — who wins the Qualifier has secured their spot at the World Finals in Salzburg.

FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHT

The festival’s climax: 1,000 people fill SZENE Salzburg for spectacular battles, live acts, showcases and the finest DJs the scene has to offer. A celebration of Hip Hop and House Dance in all their power and diversity.

WORKSHOPS

International judges and dancers from around the world come to Salzburg, offering workshops across a range of styles — Hip Hop, House, Waacking and more. A rare opportunity for beginners and professionals alike to learn directly from them and deepen their own practice.

PARTY

After the World Finals, the Afterparty opens the floor — for dancing, celebrating and letting go well into the early hours. The finest DJs in the scene make sure the night is one to remember.
