With different events throughout the eight days, Flavourama’s mission is to connect people, share knowledge about the culture of Hip Hop and House Dance, give upcoming artists and performers the possibility to grow and to show their skills on stages and in theatre settings.  

With its 16th edition from the 1st until the 8th of September 2024, the Flavourama Festival is looking for volunteers to join the team and help to make the festival an unforgettable experience. Based on our values, we are looking for open-minded people that want to join our Flavourama community, who are open to collaborate and are eager to learn from and with each other.  

You can participate in the following ways: project coordination, assembling and dismantling at different event locations, ticketing, artist care, registering battle guests, working backstage, car shuttles, simple troubleshooting and being a Helping Hand wherever it’s needed. 

Please be aware that working at the festival can be a very intense experience that might require a lot of energy – please decide for yourself if you are ready for that. We will of course ensure breaks as well as continuous guidance from the Flavourama team – more so, within a team of volunteers, you are never alone. 

The Flavourama team seeks to build a community of volunteers and wants to give every person the opportunity to learn about the festival and get insights behind the scenes. Therefore, a community day will be organized, on which volunteers get to know each other as well as the Flavourama team members. The board members of the festival – Olivia, Farah and Elena – will share their knowledge of organizing events in the dance field, answer your personal questions and inspire you with their work ethic.  

Additionally on that day, you will have free access to “A Flavourful Night” where we will round off the creative days of the Intensive Retreat participants. The mentors Gil de Grid and Kamilla Takeyourtime will show some pop-up performances, while DJs will provide some fine tunes for the rest of the evening.  

Furthermore, as a volunteer, you get free tickets to Flavourama events – depending on your work availability, as well as a Flavourama Goodie Bag including a Flavourama T-Shirt.  

How many days do you want to contribute to the festival?
– One day (get 1 event ticket for free – excl. Intensive Retreat, Music Brunch)
– Two days (get 2 event tickets for free – excl. Intensive Retreat, Music Brunch)
– Three Days or more (whole festival for free – excl. Intensive Retreat, Music Brunch) 

This is how we want to give something back to our helping hands – so come and get a glimpse of the Flavourama team spirit!

*Note: If you work on Saturday and want to use your free ticket for a workshop, then you can only choose the first workshop-slot (10.30 – 12.30 am) due to availability reasons.  

Next to the community day, there will be two obligatory online briefings with all volunteers, in which you will receive important information about your work and competences needed at the festival. It is mandatory to be present in one meeting, which will happen online via Zoom.

➔ Two ONLINE VOLUNTEER BRIEFINGS (one obligatory) via Zoom on 3rd and 4th of August 2024
➔ Volunteer Community Day (non-obligatory) LIVE on September 4th, 3-5pm in Hallein (small city approx. 20 min. by train from the city of Salzburg)
